Reviews for Stage Grub
Review highlights
Based on 31 reviewsStage Grub is widely praised for its excellent fish and chips, noted for a crispy crust and well-cooked fish, placing it among the top seafood options in Newfoundland. Customers appreciate its scenic waterfront location, with outdoor seating offering a memorable dining experience by the fjord. The menu offers generous portions beyond fish and chips, including tacos, burgers, and other local specialties, all reasonably priced. While the food quality and value are consistently highlighted as strengths, some feedback points to occasional slow service and mixed reactions to side dishes like cole slaw. Overall, Stage Grub is regarded as a must-visit roadside food truck with a unique setting and satisfying meals.
Best fish and chips in Newfoundland! Thin and crispy crust and perfectly cooked cod. Completely delicious! On top of the food experience, you have the privilege to eat right by the fjord! A must stop when traveling the transcanadian highway!!! Thank you! (PS top 3 fish and chips, exequo with Iceland and Vancouver restos)
Great waterfront location with patio. Its just a food truck but given where it is, it is very welcome if you are there. We only had the cod and chips which were good (although the cole slaw with it detracted from it rather than adding to it).
Best fish and chips of the trip! Awesome fries, nice location, prices are reasonable. Really glad I stopped here!
For where it is, this food truck is great. The fish tacos, toutons, and Montreal burgers with onion rings that we ordered were generously portioned and delicious. Reasonably priced too, and in my opinion borderline cheap considering prices on the rest of the island. Gorgeous picnic tables with pergola for shade right next to the waterfront - wow what a view. The service was a touch slow but come on people, you’re in King’s Point, Nfld. Does anything move quickly in these parts?
